Dr. R J Ponder T. Frazee G. Brucia R. Osborne G. Libertelli M. G. Parfett

Mike Parfetts’ career is focused on technology and business transformation including entrepreneurship in the telecommunication, finance, consulting, human capital management and computing industries as well as a wealth of international experience.

Mr. Parfett is a Program Director for the Service Management Program and a Distinguished Professor in the Howe School of Technology Management, a graduate school at Stevens Institute of Technology.  In his Program Director role, he developed a new innovative program in Service Management and Engineering. This program is a unique Master’s degree that also includes four course certificates in Strategy, Operations, Architecting and Service Management with seven new courses in service management. He also teaches and develops courses in the MBA; Information Systems and Project Management programs, e.g., Leadership in Project Management, Global Business and Markets and IT Strategy: Issues in IT management.

Before joining Stevens Institute, Mr. Parfett was an Executive Consultant with FourPars, LLC. a company he founded.  Key clients included Cap Gemini, Bell South/AT&T and Axium.  His role with Cap Gemini was to consult on a $2.7B telecommunication protect to develop the necessary infrastructure needed to support states separately from Verizon. At Bell South he was the program director of a $650M broadband platform project. At Axium he did executive consulting to the owners on the direction of the Human Capital Management company.

Prior to that, he was the President of a start-up company, Chimes, Inc. focused on becoming the leader in the newly developing Human Capital Management space.  Chimes was a wholly owned subsidiary of Computer Horizons Corporation (CHC), with operations in the United States and Europe.  In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of the company.  He grew revenues from $2 million to $25 million in three years and achieved profitability in an extremely difficult economic climate.

While at CHC, Mr. Parfett was named executive-in-charge of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Princeton Softech.  Although a solid company, his analysis showed that a software products company did not fit into the long-range strategy of CHC and recommended selling the company and focusing on Human Capital and Solutions, which is the core strength of CHC.

Also at CSC Mr. Parfett served as Director on several boards both in the U.S. and in Europe.  Prior to that, he had a number of senior level positions with AT&T.  As IT’s Ordering and Provisioning Vice President, he was responsible for providing best-in-class ordering and provisioning processes and systems for that company’s $28B Consumer Markets products and services.

Mr. Parfett was also AT&T’s IT Architecture and System Integration Vice President and was responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company’s Foundation Architecture, Data Architecture, Cross Business Unit Application Architecture and planning activities for all internal AT&T systems worldwide.

He was a member of the Technology advisory boards for HP and Sun Microsystems. Prior to this Mr. Parfett held numerous senior level development and system integration jobs on cutting edge projects at AT&T.  Additionally, he founded a consulting firm and worked on Wall Street developing unique technologies that transformed the financial industry.

Mr. Parfett has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics from Farleigh Dickinson University and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Lehigh University; graduating with honors.  In addition, he is a graduate of Duke University’s Executive Education and General Management curriculum.
